Top Parenting Hack for Parents with Toddlers

One parenting hack I've found incredibly effective may seem simple, but it's been a game-changer for me. After spending years searching for my toddler son’s shoes, toy cars, dropped LEGO pieces, rubber ducks, and even our pet goldfish, I realized I needed a better strategy.

When my daughter was born, I decided to praise her for being "so good at finding things" from a very young age. And amazingly, it worked.

Children often become what you tell them they are. If you tell them they are loved, kind, and resourceful, they will embody those qualities. Conversely, if you label them as clumsy or unkind, they might internalize those negative traits.

I always told my daughter positive things, and she truly became what I encouraged. I frequently praised her ability to locate lost items, and now she can find anything—from car keys and glasses to my favorite gloves' missing pair and the earring her granny dropped on the driveway. Her talent has even extended to finding parking spaces, supermarket bargains, Saturday jobs, and college courses.

So, I highly recommend telling your toddler, "You’re so good at finding things, darling." It’s a simple yet powerful way to boost their confidence and develop a useful skill.
